Ever wonder how you’d protect your thoughts if people around you could actually hear them? In The Feeler Series, we’ve got just the thing: Neurowall technology! It’s the perfect solution for those without special abilities (Originals) to shield themselves from the powers of those who do have them (our talented Askovians).
So, what does a Neurowall do, exactly? Think of it like a privacy screen for your brain! It blocks the normal transmission of thoughts and emotions, keeping Originals safe from prying Askovian minds. Most Askovians, mind you, don’t need this—they’re naturally great at keeping their thoughts to themselves.
Here’s how it works: whenever a person has a thought or feels something, that energy gets broadcast out into the world. Some Askovians can “tune in” to this energy—like Readers, who pick up on your thoughts, and Feelers, who sense your emotions. But a select few Askovians take things up a notch: they can send thoughts or feelings into your mind, with or without your permission.
That’s where Neurowalls come in! They were originally designed for the police and security forces—many of whom are Originals—to keep their minds protected from unwanted Askovian intrusions. But as with all great tech, it didn’t stay confined to just the pros. Soon, everyone wanted it, and Neurowalls became a must-have for the masses.
Also Neurowalls aren’t just for Originals. Askovians and even their family members use them too! Sometimes, being able to put up a mental ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign is a blessing, especially in close quarters with powerful minds. And for those Askovians who aren’t naturally shielded or just want a little extra privacy, removable Neurowalls are the perfect fit. You can block things out when you need to, but still access your abilities when the moment calls for it.
